'Crowd-sourced' cure

The proliferation of newspapers and TV channels in India may be something the average Indian politician and corporate executive take for granted. But this could come as a surprise for those from south-east Asia, especially Singapore, where press controls tend to be more stringent. Thus, Phee Teik Yeoh, a Singaporean by origin and CEO of the joint venture Tata Singapore Airlines, was certainly taken aback by the large press crowd that awaited him to announce Vistara, the brand name of the new airline. A delighted Phee, who had a sore throat and was seen sipping warm water throughout, declared that he had never seen so many journalists at one place and then added that the effort of speaking to so many people had miraculously cured his throat as well.
