Disappearing act

A "missing" Twitter handle caused a flutter on social media on the day of the Union Budget. The handle - @shilpitewari - belonging to Shilpi Tewari, who allegedly circulated the doctored video on Jawaharlal Nehru University student leader Kanhaiya Kumar, could not be traced for a while. Tewari's Twitter adversaries were quick to spread the word that she had deleted her account in panic. Some websites, too, reported the "news" of the account having been deleted. On Wednesday, the handle resurfaced with a pinned tweet saying, "Somewhere else for a few days. Enjoy."
