Mayank Pareek, former chief operating officer of Maruti Suzuki and now president of Tata Motors' passenger vehicle division, was eager to convince journalists at a recent press meet that success is a matter of just one blockbuster product. Since the Nano, launched in 2008, long before Pareek's tenure, signally failed to fulfill that role, Tata Motors dealers are hoping Pareek will be able to drive the change they have been eagerly awaiting for many years.
