Gorkhaland can wait

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will have to wait for another opportunity to discuss the Gorkhaland issue with his cabinet colleagues after missing a meeting with them on Wednesday. The PM wanted to convene a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs (CCPA) on Wednesday morning but two key members of the panel —Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar and Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee — were not available. While Pawar had some official engagements in Mumbai, Banerjee wanted to spend time in Kolkata.
