Hashtag wars

Nobody triggers a war on Twitter like Prime Minister Narendra Modi does. Yesterday, Chinese Whispers told you about #DespiteBeingAWoman becoming a top trend on the micro-blogging site, after Modi praised his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina for her fight against terrorism. Soon after, #ModiEmpowersWomen started trending as Modi's supporters began tweeting with the hashtag. A similar hashtag war had broken out during Modi's China visit. #modiinsultsindia had started trending after Modi said, "Earlier, you felt ashamed of being born in India." However, the PM's army of Twitter supporters ensured #ModiIndiasPride topped the trending list in no time.
