Healthy company

Uma Bharati has not changed one bit. She continues to be her old indiscreet self. She got thrown out of the BJP because she criticised some of her colleagues in the strongest possible terms, unaware (or, possibly aware) that the media was listening. And now, even as party president Nitin Gadkari lobbies hard to get her back, she does what she is best at. She was recently at Gadkari’s residence, and she clarified it was not to return to the BJP, but because she is fond of healthy people. And, Gadkari is healthy by any yardstick. Smriti Irani was in the same room. Bharati glanced at her and said, “You know Smriti, I’m fond of you for the same reason”. Irani, who is loath to be described as ‘overweight’, merely said she had lost a lot of weight recently.
