Horse before the car

If you live in Delhi and are still agonising over ways to get around the odd-even formula for private vehicles to be enforced for a trial period of 15 days starting January 1, 2016, you might want to take a leaf out of Bihar Health Minister Tej Pratap Yadav's book.

Last week, the young minister and elder son of Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad rode a horse through Patna's streets and even suggested to some journalists looking on that it might be better to ride a horse, given the pollution and traffic jams on roads.

Some onlookers were reminded of former Janata Dal (United) legislator Anant Singh, who was often spotted riding a horse-drawn carriage to the state Assembly premises.
