Letters: A fitting tribute

Image

Business Standard New Delhi

Our Muslim brethren, including the respected Imams of various leading mosques in India, have won our hearts and deep admiration. They toned down the Eid celebrations, wore black bands on their hands as a mark of protest and mourned by offering Namaaz-e-Janaaza during the Eid prayers — to express their solidarity with the unfortunate victims of terror attacks in Mumbai. They also condemned Pakistan for being instrumental in facilitating such attacks.

By doing so, they have ensured that our secular fabric is as intact as ever, besides giving a befitting reply to all those who are misusing the holy name of Islam to further their selfish ends at the behest of their mentors.
