Letters: Hardship for people

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes will hit the corporate world, the real estate sector and the jewellery industry. Most of the land being sold was undervalued, now there would be a slowdown. Banks would also feel the impact.

That banks and their ATMs were closed on Wednesday and some would stay shut on Thursday as well would put the common man in difficulty. Also, this being the second Saturday of the month, banks would again be closed on that day apart from Sunday. People living in places where there are no ATMs would undergo further hardship.
