It is unfortunate that the Pakistan Supreme Court upheld the Lahore High Court’s decision to release Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind of the November 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, from house arrest. This development is really a matter of concern for India. No society wants to see terrorists being let off scot-free like this.
Countries all across the world should understand India’s disappointment over the release of Saeed. India’s hope that Pakistan would be sensitive to India’s concerns about the court verdict and take effective legal action on the issue should not be ridiculed. Now, Pakistan should give a proper explanation for the release of the most-wanted terrorist in the Mumbai terror attack case, and cooperate with India in taking further legal action against Saeed.
