With reference to "NIA claims arrest of 14 IS sympathisers nationwide" (January 23), the National Investigation Agency deserves to be commended for putting their lives on the line and going ahead with the onerous task of busting the ISIS terror network in India. The nationwide crackdown, coming days ahead of French President Francois Hollande's visit to India and which has resulted in the arrest and detention of 14 terror suspects so far, paints a disturbing picture of young men going astray and falling for the lure of terrorism. The fact that an army of recruits had plotted to target vital locations and crowded places is enough to set off alarm bells. It is disturbing to learn that even educated youths are part of the set-up. Well begun is half done, and the authorities would do well to maintain eternal vigil and enhanced security, for that is the only way to squash the terrorists and their ulterior motives.
