Modi and micro-management

The second rung leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at its national headquarters, 16, Ashoka Road, in New Delhi is dreading Narendra Modi becoming the prime minister. They say Modi believes in micro-managing things and has special affection for the office where he lived, off and on, for nearly a decade. Modi, during his recent visits, asked the second rung to give him a guided tour of the preparations made for various functions such as the ceremony to launch the party's manifesto or the "chai pe charcha" events. During these visits, Modi went into the nitty-gritty, suggesting several improvements that increased the burden on the party workers.
