As Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi announced he was "travelling out of the country for a few days on a short visit", without specifying the country he was heading to, a day after his 46th birthday, a torrent of trolls started pouring in on Twitter.
Subramanian @manianks tweeted, "Rahul is sent in exile abroad to save Congress." kaveri @ikaveri added, "Rahul Gandhi is on a foreign holiday? Oh good. Have fun. No need to rush back. Or at all." Gandhi had taken a sabbatical last year as well, which had invited a lot of sarcasm on social media.
