Onion as 'jewel'

Amid spiralling prices, 700 kg of onions went missing from a Mumbai shop last week. As reports of the theft emerged, crime beat reporters sent a flurry of messages to a senior police officer to ascertain the facts. The reporters were surprised to receive a quirky response from the official: the image of a ring, in which the jewel wasn't a diamond, but an onion.
