A decade and a half ago, then chief justice of India (CJI) J S Verma had complained that his white shirt would turn grey by evening due to pollution in the nation's capital city, New Delhi. The situation has only become worse. Recently, ex-CJI H L Dattu said his grandchild looked like a Ninja in anti-pollution gear. Last Friday, the pollution measuring device set up in the court of the new incumbent, T S Thakur indicated that the pollution level was 10 times the permitted level.
