Poor PR

Calling journalists to fix up meetings is par for the course when it comes to public relations firms. Things got a bit messy, however, when a leading PR firm SMS’d a journalist to fix up a meeting with a senior government official. Why does the official need a PRO to fix a meeting, the journalist called to ask. A flustered PRO, then blurted out the truth — he was trying to fix the meeting on behalf of a corporate client! The official was going to peddle the company’s line, and the inexperienced PRO let it out.
