President Pranab Mukherjee does not appear to have lost his ability to reconcile the most implacable of adversaries, even after his shift to Rashtrapati Bhavan. During his recent visit to Bangladesh, he found himself flanked by three members of Parliament who are sworn political enemies. They were Communist Party of India (Marxist)'s Sitaram Yechury, Trinamool Congress' Mukul Roy and Congress' Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury. All three of them have links with West Bengal's fiercely polarised politics. But on the journey out, they were seen to be in an animated conversation with Mukherjee, and no sign of discord was evident.
