At a press interaction in Cologne, an Indian journalist asked Apollo Tyres Vice Chairman Neeraj Kanwar if his company would look at the “domestic market” for further acquisitions. Apollo had bought Dunlop in South Africa in 2006 and more recently Vredestein in the Netherlands. Given the company’s European and African presence so far and ambitions to go to Latin America or South East Asia next, Kanwar smiled back and asked, “Which domestic?”
