TMC spokespersons in demand
Suddenly, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has acquired the status of a national party in public discourse

Suddenly, the Trinamool Congress (TMC), a regional party consisting predominantly of Bengali-speaking members, has acquired the status of a national party in public discourse. It’s all thanks to the aggressive opposition that TMC President and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee (pictured) has provided on the note ban issue. There are now requests from Hindi news channels for TMC spokespersons to be part of studio discussions on the issue. But not all of the party’s current lot of spokespersons are proficient in Hindi. Banerjee has now added four more to the list of spokespersons that comprised Sukhendu Sekhar Roy, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, Kalyan Banerjee and Mohua Moitra. Except Moitra, a West Bengal Assembly legislator, the other three are members of Parliament (MP). The additions are Saugata Roy and Dinesh Trivedi, both of whom are MPs, and Nirbed Roy and Manas Bhunia.
