The Centre's strict instruction to all Bharatiya Janata Party MPs not to solicit or entertain requests for favours from anyone is having a positive impact on the railway reservation system. According to a top official, ever since the Narendra Modi government took charge, the number of requests from MPs for out-of-turn reservations in trains under their own quotas has fallen considerably. So much so that people with a genuine need for urgent tickets and those who have legitimate quotas are no longer returning empty-handed.
