As always, the Railway Budget contained nothing that would ease the extreme and increasing discomfort of commuters on Mumbais local trains. One commuter was heard suggesting how this could be remedied. Let railway ministers travel during peak hours between Virar and Churchgate without any security and then read out the Railway Budget. That way, he reasoned, they would get first-hand experience of travelling in inhuman conditions and may be moved to spend money and add more trains for commuters in Indias financial capital.
