Vatican detour

Food Minister K V Thomas' visit to Rome to attend an international conference of UN's Food and Agriculture Organisation will also have religious significance. The minister is expected to meet the current Pope of the Catholic Church, Francis, who was elected the 266th Bishop of Rome earlier this year after his predecessor took the unusual decision of retiring.
