The question whether Narendra Modi will expand his Council of Ministers after this round of Assembly elections gnaws many a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader. Several careers are at stake if the BJP fails to do well in the elections in Haryana and Maharashtra scheduled for October 15, and Assembly elections to Jharkhand and Jammu & Kashmir later in the year. Maharashtra BJP incharge Rajiv Pratap Rudy has distinguished himself with the handling of seat-sharing talks and eventual parting of ways with the Shiv Sena. Sources say, Rudy has been assured a place in the Cabinet. He was the civil aviation minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government but wasn't inducted in the Modi government because of protests from the BJP's Bihar unit. Similarly, Jagat Prakash Nadda could also find a place despite the controversy about his alleged role in the removal of All India Institute of Medical Sciences Chief Vigilance Officer Sanjiv Chaturvedi.
