Assam Government gifts laptops to students

Apart from the award the students will also be given free computer training

Students from Assam's Jorhat District were given laptops by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi at a function recently.
 
The Assam Government had instituted an award in the name of Ananda Ram Barooah, the state's first Indian civil servant, in 2008 to promote excellence in the field of information technology education.
 
Apart from the award the students will also be given free computer training.
 
"I am very happy to get this award. I thank to all the organizers for giving us this award. It is a great way to encourage student so that they can improve more in the future so I think this will obviously encourage me and I will try my best to use this laptop," said Kabir Baruah, a student.
