BJP demands CBI enquiry into land scam

The state unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today staged a dharana, demanding CBI enquiry into the Gangapatana land encroachment case on the city';s outskirts and irregularities in allotment of lands. The BJP today submitted a memorandum to Governor SC Jamir, requesting him to direct the government to conduct an enquiry by the CBI into the whole scam.

BJP state unit president Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo said the Governor has promised to look into the memorandum and take appropriate action. BJD MP Kalapataru Das, his MLA son Paranab Balabantray and bureaucrats were in the eye of the storm in the land scam.
