Congress to launch mass contact programme in Punjab

40-day programme will cover all 117 assembly segments at least three times and five programmes will be held in each constituency

Punjab Congress on Monday announced that it will launch a mass contact programme from September 19 to reach out to at least 20 lakh people across the state.

The 40-day programme will cover all 117 assembly segments at least three times and five programmes will be held in each constituency.

This was decided at a meeting presided over by Pradesh Congress Committee president Amarinder Singh, said a party release.

The meeting was attended by Punjab All India Congress Committee in-charge Asha Kumari, secretary in-charge Harish Chaudhary, former CM Rajinder Kaur Bhattal and Congress Legislature Party leader Charanjit Singh Channi among others.
 

The state has been divided into 13 parliamentary segments. Senior leaders will address these programmes, the release said.
