DMK chief targets Karnataka

Flaying the AIADMK Government in Tamil Nadu over Karnataka’s move to build a check dam across the river Cauvery, DMK President M Karunanidhi today charged it with being ‘unconcerned’ about the issue.

He alleged, Karnataka was in the ‘forefront’ of acting against the interests of people of Tamil Nadu in the inter-state river issue. “While opposing this, I also condemn the government of the day in Tamil Nadu which is not concerned,” he told reporters here when asked about the issue.

Protests have erupted in Tamil Nadu, especially in the Cauvery delta, over Karnataka’s decision to construct check dam at Mekedatu.
