The farmhouse of a close associate of suspended DMK leader M K Alagiri at nearby Avanipuram was raided by police today.
An air gun and a sword were seized in the raid on the farmhouse of S R Gopi, police said.

Gopi, who was one of the five suspended DMK men for allegedly indulging in anti-party activities, was also the organiser of birthday celebrations of the DMK leader, which was carried out in a grand manner in the city yesterday.
Gopi was acquitted in the case relating to the murder of former Minister T Kiruttinan.
