MP to probe recruitments by past govts

The state government would also amend MPPEB Act 2007 in this session

BS Reporter Bhopal
Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday said he would initiate a probe in all the recruitments of those cases which came to certain people gratis. He said his predecessors had granted jobs to some relatives, near and dear ones without entering into any formal process. Also, the state government would amend MPPEB Act 2007 in this session.

"From tomorrow onwards a detail investigation will take place and each case will be examined and will come under the government lens," Chouhan said here. He also said it was the prime reason his government started conducting entrance for government jobs through Madhya Pradesh Professional Board Examination (MPPEB) since 2007 by enacting an Act.

This would cover the irregularities, which Chouhan read out today in assembly, of the regime of Digvijay Singh and Arjun Singh. He said it may go far beyond. "Firstly we will examine the cases," he said.

On the other hand the Congress is looking at legal angle in it against the state government for knowingly suppressing some facts. "We will examine what can be done legally since it was in the notice of the government. We have already demanded a CBI probe against all cases but they should also handover MPPEB scam to CBI," Satyadev Katare, leader of opposition said here.

Katare also pointed out Chouhan's colleague quoted names of his family, none of the Congress members of the House quoted names of his family members. "Why he had to clarify on his family when we had not quoted his family members in the Assembly," Katare said.

Chouhan said his government would amend the MPPEB Act 2007 to bring more transparency in the entrance examinations.
