President to visit Kerala on December 20

President would inaugurate the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of social reformer Ayyan Kali

President Pranab Mukherjee will unveil the statue of late Congress leader and former Chief Minister K Karunakaran here on December 20.

Mukherjee, who would arrive here on a day's visit, would address a meeting organised in connection with the event, official sources said.

The statue is being installed at a spot in the Kanakakunnu Palace, one of the main tourist centres in the city.

Later in the day, the President would proceed to Kochi to inaugurate the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of social reformer Ayyan Kali, organised by 'Kerala Pulayar Maha Sabha', sources said.
