Okaya Power Group (OPG), renowned for its forte in innovative techniques, has now ventured into the water purifier segment under the brand name “Nasaka water purifiers”, a new concept water purifier, launched for the first time in India. It has a vast range of water purifiers which includes filters and RO purifiers.
Presently water treatment industry in domestic segment is growing at the rate of 15-20% per annum. The market size & potential of water industry in India is very evident from the fact that among the population of over 135 crore, less than 2% Indians purify water before drinking.
After extensive research and market survey, Okaya sees a huge potential in the RO purifier market and realizes that RO purifiers available in the market provides demineralized water, they purify water but in the process eliminate minerals also along with impurities. To address this problem, Okaya, always a pioneer when its come to one of its kind technology has launched RO purifiers, that not only provides purest water but at the same time, injects minerals in it in the right quantity, so that whatever minerals are lost during the purification process or are not found due to natural circumstances, gets available, a concept that was unknown hitherto.
Mr. Rajesh Gupta, Director of Okaya Power Ltd., stated, “More and more people are becoming aware of the hazards of drinking impure water, so the demand for effective water purifiers is growing rapidly. Over 80% of communicable diseases are caused by drinking impure water. Apart from these, the major contaminants responsible are invisible by the naked eye like bacteria, virus, toxic chemicals & metals. Realizing the enormous need for pure drinking water, we decided to venture into the water purifier segment by launching “Nasaka water purifier”.
“The company is investing Rs.104 Cr in plant and machinery. And the total project investment is Rs.234 Cr. It is first integrated plant in India with its own injection moulding shop with 27 machines and its own filter and consumable production facility and four assembly and testing line. We also plan to enter the segment of gravity and industrial water filters”, added Mr. Gupta

The company has commissioned a state-of-art plant in Himachal Pradesh. The company has also established a world class Research and Development Centre manned by qualified PHDs in water technology who continuously keep an eye on new technology and implement it for customers’ benefit. New designs and models for various applications and different grades of water contamination are being researched and developed.
The company has extensive plans to market Nasaka Water Purifier. It has state-wise 29 branch offices all over India for distribution of Nasaka. At present the company is having 230 distributors but soon it plans to extend it to 470 distributors across India.
Nasaka water purifier prices range from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 16,000 and are available in all leading outlets, across the country. The product ensures taste through Mineral Cartridge; free pre-filter with every machine; anti-scalant & auto flush as few of the key features.
