The index opened at 6778.75 points after opening at 6955.24 points.
IT major, ACC was at Rs 1395.90 at close. Infosys Technologies was at Rs 2295.60.
State Bank of India gained Rs 2336.25 up from Rs 2319.10 ended in the previous week.
Tata Steel was at Rs 431.90 and Vindus Holding was at Rs 307 at end of the week.
