The Bihar government today decided to set up 1,000 higher secondary schools across the state in panchayats which does not have secondary schools.
The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Each school would cost a sum of Rs 1.15 crore, Joint Secretary in Cabinet Coordination department Vinod Kumar Jha told reporters briefing about Cabinet decisions.

The state Cabinet gave its nod to Rs 500 crore for the same in the financial year 2013-14.
In other important decisions, the Cabinet gave permission to make the film "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" tax-free. The Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra film is the biopic of athlete "flying Sikh" Milkha Singh.
It also gave green signal for creation of India Reserve battalion consisting of 1,107 personnel in the state on the lines of one existing at the national level.
The cabinet also approved a sum of Rs 23.48 crore for modernisation of police force as per guidelines of the Central government.
