One company of CRPF arrived in Jhargram sub-division of West Midnapore district today ahead of the first phase of West Bengal assembly polls early next month.
SP Sukhendu Hira said the paramilitary personnel were part of the four companies of security forces to be deployed in Gopiballavpur, Jhargram, Binpur and Sankrail areas of the sub-division.
The company came ahead of the scheduled date of March seven with the rest three slated to arrive in next two days, the SP said.
This was in addition with the CRPF personnel already deployed in certain erstwhile Maoist-affected pockets since 2009.
