One person drowned and two others went missing in river Sone during immersion of idols of goddess Durga in Bihar's Bhojpur district today.
The incident happened near Abdul Bari bridge under the jurisdiction of Koilwar police station when people had gathered to participate in idol immersion of goddess Durga, Koilwar police station Officer-in-Charge Pankaj Kumar said.
The deceased has been identified as Chintu Kumar (25), a resident of Sirasta village in Patna district.
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team has been pressed into service to look for the two persons who went missing during the idol immersions, an official said.
But the team could not find the bodies due to darkness, the official said.
Efforts to find the missing persons would be carried out tomorrow, he added.
