1 kg stolen gold recovered, one held

A day after two kg of gold jewels were stolen from a bus passenger near here, police today arrested a 21-year old man and recovered one kg of gold ornaments from him.

The theft occurred yesterday when Vignesh of Coimbatore was on his way here in the bus carrying two kgs of gold jewels in a bag, police said.

Following a complaint, the police today picked up Manikandan of Kamaraj Nagar on suspicion.

After interrogation, they recovered one kg of gold jewels, nearly 30 mortgage receipts, Rs 20,000 cash and a two-wheeler from him, police said adding further inquiry was on.
