A man was today killed and another severely injured when a bus belonging to the Sikkim Police collided head-on with their two-wheeler at north-east Delhi's New Usmanpur, the police said.

The accident occurred at around 9 am.

The deceased, Shyamji Verma (28), a resident of Shiv Vihar, was riding the bike, while Deepak Kumar (33) was the pillion rider, the police said.

They were headed towards Shastri Park, they said, adding that to avoid a traffic jam at New Usmanpur, Verma took a U- turn and proceeded on the wrong side of the road when a bus belonging to the Indian Reserve Battalion of the Sikkim Police collided head-on with the motorcycle.
