1 killed, 1 injured in accident in UP

A 25-year-old woman was today killed and another injured after being hit by a car near Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's residence in Hazratganj area here, police said.

Shazia was killed and one Afsar Jahan was injured when they were hit by the speeding car while crossing the road near Gautampalli crossing this afternoon, it said.

Afsar, who sustained serious injuries, has been admitted to a hospital.

The car has been impounded and the driver was being identified, they said.
