1 killed, 8 injured in bus-car collision

One person was killed and eight others injured when an SUV and a bus collided head on at Baihata Chariali, under Rangia Sub division, in Assam's Kamrup district today, police said.

The SUV travelling from Koniha to Guwahati was carrying examinees for a Sanskrit Examination, while the bus was going from Guwahati to Tangla when the accident occurred.

Police rescued the injured with the help of local people.

The injured were taken to Narrayana Hridayalaya in Amingaon in a critical condition, police said.
