10 held for illegal mining of sandstones

On a tip off, a joint team of police and forest department officials conducted raid yesterday at Gopi Bigha mines and arrested 10 persons for illegal mining of sandstones, Superintendent of police (SP) Manu maharaj said.

They also seized 4 JCB machines and 4 dumper from their possession, the SP added.

Investigation is on in regard to the illegal trade in the area, the SP said.
