105-yr-old freedom fighter dies

105-year-old freedom fighter Khubram Jakhar today passed away at his village in Haryana's Sirsa district.

Jakhar, who was also the former sarpanch of Chautala village, was around 105 years, a release said.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda expressed grief over the demise of Jakhar. In his condolence message, Hooda described him as a great freedom fighter who played a vital role in the freedom struggle.

Hooda conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to the members of the bereaved family.

He was cremated with full state honours at his village, the release said.
