Eleven suspected poachers were arrested with two carcasses of tiger from the Amangarh forest range, on the border of the Corbett Tiger Reserve, an official said.

The poachers were arrested in a joint operation by staff of the tiger reserve and Uttar Pradesh Police when they were moving in a taxi with the carcasses, Corbett warden Satish Chand Upadhyay said.

Initial investigations revealed that the poachers killed two male tigers using a snare trap in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh. They, then, removed their skin and buried the bones, Chand said.

The bones of the tigers have been recovered from the site, he said, adding that a case has been registered at a police station in Bijnor as the alleged crime took place there.
