11 tonnes of ammonium nitrate seized

Eleven tonnes of ammonium nitrate kept in 220 bags without any documents was seized from a quarry site in the district, police said.

Ammonium nitrate kept in 220 bags of 50 kilograms each was seized yesterday, Superintendent of Police Ram Niwas told PTI.

"Ammonium nitrate is generally used for blasting purposes by quarry owners. However, since the bags kept near the quarry site was without any documents, the quarry owner is being questioned", he said.
