11-year-old girl raped by neighbour

An 11-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour who was arrested, the police said.

According to police officials, it was alleged that last night when the alleged victim's family members were in a park outside the house, a man living in their neighbourhood sneaked in and raped the minor.

Hearing the girl scream, the family members rushed but the accused fled.

They informed the police which sent the girl for medical examination and on a complaint by the victim's father a case was registered IPC section 376 (rape) and the POCSO act.

Surajpur police incharge Manish Saxena said, "the accused Manoj has been arrested. He is construction worker".
