At least 12 people were injured in a blast that took place near Egypt's Supreme Court building here, security and medical officials have said.
The explosion took place late yesterday near the Gamal Abdel Naser Metro Station located close to the Court's building in Cairo's busy central neighbourhood.
Three of the 12 injured are in critical condition, said Mohamed Sultan, the head of the Health Ministry's ambulance service.

The bomb disposal team and security forces rushed to the explosion site for investigations.
Over 500 security personnel have been reportedly killed in the attacks, which have increased after the ouster of Islamist ex-president Mohamed Morsi last year.
