12-year-old missing boy found murdered

A 12-year-old boy who was missing since the past 24 hours was found murdered at Ratheri village under Newmandi police station in the district, police said today.

According to Station House Officer, Arun Kumar Singh, Atish's naked body was found strangulated to death in the sugar cane fields yesterday. It is suspected that he was murdered after being sodomised by unidentified persons.

The boy had left his home on Saturday but did not return, he said.

The deceased's family members have lodged a complaint with police following which an FIR was registered against unknown persons, police said.

The body has been sent for post-mortem and investigation is on, they said.
