At least 13 gamblers were arrested from a marriage palace of a hotel in Jamalpur village following a raid, police said Friday.
About Rs 8 lakh was also recovered and manager of the hotel Dhian Chand was also arrested, police said.
Jatinder Singla, the owner of the marriage palace, was booked but he could not be arrested as he was not present there, they said.
All the accused were arrested on Thursday night and were released on bail on Friday by a court here, police said.
Their arrest was made under Section 3-33-67 of the Punjab Gambling Act and Section 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), they said.
The hotel owner and the manager allegedly arranged gambling game of cards on the promise of doubling the amount of game players, police said.
They belonged to well-off families, they said.
