13-kg charas seized, one held

Police today seized 13 kilograms of charas with street value of Rs one crore in Kashmir's Pulwama district and arrested an alleged drug peddler in this connection.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided the house of Ghulam Nabi Sofi in Sofigund village near Tral, 35-km from here, and seized 13 kgs of charas, officials said.

Sofi was arrested and a case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act was registered against him, they said.
