13 scientists, engineers to get INS awards tomorrow

Besides the scientists and engineers, T S Subramanian, Associate Editor, Frontline, and R K Singh, Head, Media Relations and Public Awareness Section, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), will be honoured for the 'INS Outstanding Service Award' for 2011 for Science Communication.

D D Bawalkar, former Director of Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology, Indore, and Ramendra Gupta, former Chairman and Managing Director of Uranium Corporation of India Limited, will receive the INS Homi Bhabha Lifetime Achievement Award for 2011.

The awards will be given away at the 23rd Annual Conference of Indian Nuclear Society in Mumbai tomorrow.

S A V Sathyamurthy, Director, Electronics Instrumentation & Radiological Safety Group, Indira Gandhi Centre for Advanced Research and G Nageswara Rao, Director (Operations), NPCIL, will be conferred the INS Outstanding Service Award in the Nuclear Reactor Technology and Reactor Safety field. (more)
