A report from Raichur said four persons were killed and two others injured when the car in which they were travelling rammed into a roadside tree at Yardona cross in Shahapur taluk in the early hours today.
The victims were returning from Lingasaguru to Shimoga after visiting one of their relatives, police said.
In the other mishap, ten persons were killed and two others injured in a collision between a car and a goods carrier at Nippani town in Belgaum district.
Eight persons died on the spot while two succumbed to injuries at a hospital, police said.
The injured have been hospitalised.
The victims were on their way to Goa after a trip to the pilgrim town of Shiradi when the mishap occurred, police said.
